Lynette Eastman Named to Lead Team at Aqua Oasis, a Joy Hotel

Honolulu, Hawaii – Aqua Hotels and Resorts, a division of Aqua Hospitality, has appointed Lynette Eastman, area general manager, to lead the team at the newly renovated Aqua Oasis, a Joy hotel. Assisting her are Evelyn Shiroma, director of property sales and revenue and Kathy Gunderson, director of property operations.

“This highly effective management team has been working together for several years, successfully opening and operating Aqua hotels in Waikiki,” said Ben Rafter, president and CEO of Aqua Hospitality. This team is also responsible for Aqua Waikiki Pearl and Hokele Suites Waikiki.

As area general manager for three hotels, Eastman’s immediate focus for Aqua Oasis is to create an environment to achieve the highest levels of guest satisfaction.

Eastman was hired in 2006 as general manager of Aqua Coral Reef Hotel. Recognized as an innovative and effective leader, Eastman was named “Manager of the Year” by the Hawaii Hotel and Lodging Association in 2012.

Prior to joining Aqua, Eastman spent more than 20 years with Aston/ResortQuest Hawaii where she held positions of increasing responsibility including general manager of Aston Maui Islander Hotel and assistant general manager of ResortQuest Waikiki Beach.

Evelyn Shiroma, Director of Property Sales and Revenue
Shiroma joined Aqua in 2006 as sales manager for Aqua Waikiki Wave and Aqua Waikiki Pearl hotels. In 2013, she was promoted to the new position of director of property sales and revenue for both hotels. In the new role, Shiroma is responsible for driving sales and exceeding revenue goals at Aqua Oasis, Aqua Waikiki Pearl, and Hokele Suites.

Prior to joining Aqua, Shiroma was employed at ResortQuest Waikiki Beach Hotel. She has more than 20 years of management, supervision and customer relations experience having worked at Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort and Spa, Outrigger Waikiki Hotel and Bally’s Hotel and Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

Kathy Gunderson, Director of Property Operations
Gunderson has been with Aqua since 2009 and her new position utilizes skills she acquired as area hotel manager for Aqua Waikiki Wave and Aqua Waikiki Pearl. Prior to joining Aqua, Gunderson worked at Servco and Bank of Hawaii.
